Retailers Amazon-Proof Business
Just a few years ago, retailers could just be an aggregator of brands and make money. The continued rapid rise of Amazon is
forcing all retailers to rethink how they will make money in the ever
increasingly online world we all live in.
It’s too late for some
retailers who loaded up on cheap debt when business started to skid and
didn’t change fast enough. J.C. Penny, Sears, and Macy’s are all retail bankruptcies
waiting to happen. However, consumers reward retailers with huge
profits who add value and fill an unmet need or want. Regardless of the
type of retail, such successful retailers have the following common
traits.
- Include video as medium to engage consumers.
- Engage in social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest
- Sell unique products or services not found on Amazon
- Offer unique in store experiences – Matching a makeup color to skin tone is a shopping experience difficult to replicate online
- Integration of online commerce with physical locations.
- Staff stores with helpful and knowledgeable employees
- Engaging and integrating the local community with each physical store
Check out some of our favorite local and successful clients all have the attributes mentioned above.
